If you are passionate about creating sustainable and intelligent transport solutions, we want you on our team.We have an opportunity to join Siemens Mobility as a Lead Design Engineer- Signalling working as an SSI (Westlock) Data Engineer in our Rail Infrastructure business where you will direct all activities of the teams to achieve the safe implementation of signalling projects to the customer’s specifications and timescales agreed. You will also check the quality of output from the relevant section is to the required standards and target dates are achieved.You’ll make an impact byLeading the preparation of SSI (Westlock) technical documentation, signalling plans, estimates and working drawings within the project team, ensuring delivery of signalling works to programme and within approved budget constraints.Carrying out (or working towards) independent checking of Signalling design as required in particular SSI (Westlock) dataEnsuring the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achievedProviding functional support and guidance to the Design Engineer(s) and others within the team on all aspects of Signal Design within allocated projectsSupport forecasting manpower requirements for design work to enable allocation of resources to be madeYour success will be grounded byEngineering Degree/HND/HNC qualificationIRSE Signalling Principles Designer and Signalling Design Verifier Licence holder, or currently working towards accreditationAttended SSI (Westlock) and Intermediate Signalling Technology IST (Minimum) training coursesStrong and effective communication and presentation skillsExperience in all aspects of design and implementation of Signalling Systems Engineering with focus on preparation and checking of SSI (Westlock) data & Control tables with associated technical detailsExperience in Scheme Plans, LAP, Specifications, SSI Wiring, Fringe design, WTS Design production/CheckingEither hold or working towards Membership of IRSE, IET or other recognised Professional bodyWorking towards Incorporated Engineer (Ieng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) Status (desirable)We value your unique identity and perspective and are fully committed to providing equitable opportunities and building a workplace that reflects the diversity of society.
