Job Title: Research Associate Location: Augusta University Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 296519 Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating a project aiming at addressing health disparities across Georgia and in managing and maintaining our hematological malignancies registry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research and improve patient outcomes in the field of hematology and other malignancies. Responsibilities Coordinate research studies aimed at addressing the access of women living in rural areas of Georgia and South Carolina to breast and cervical cancer screenings; monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are met according to the study plan. Communicate effectively with external partners, including patients, health‑care providers, research institutions, and funding agencies. Travel to target areas to coordinate, monitor and execute surveys of patients participating in the breast and/or cervical cancer screening program; may require overnight travel. Accurately collect, enter, and manage patient data related to hematological and other malignancies in the registry database; maintain and update the registry database, ensuring data integrity and security. Assist in the analysis of registry data to identify trends, patterns, and research opportunities. Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols and standard operating procedures; generate protocols for clinical research and submit them to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts, meeting abstracts, grant proposals and funding applications to support research initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Required Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field such as biostatistics, epidemiology, or public health or other directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned, and experience in clinical research. Or, Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field such as biology, biostatistics, epidemiology, oncology, or public health or other directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned, and a minimum of one year clinical research and/or clinical experience. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in clinical research, data management, or registry management, preferably in the field of hematology or oncology. Specific experience working with hematological malignancies or related registries. Experience with human subjects training in a clinical research capacity or setting. Experience in a clinical and/or research setting working with patients. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high‑quality data standards. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi‑tasking, organizational and verbal/written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions. Shift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days/M‑F (work outside of normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position) Pay Band: B8 Salary Range: $45,400 – $50,000 annually (salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range). Recruitment Period: 3/31/26 – Until Filled Benefits may include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), earned vacation time, sick leave, and thirteen paid holidays. Full‑time employees eligible after six months may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program. Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.
