Responsibilities Provide comprehensive evaluations, re‑evaluations, and treatments through discharge in accordance with departmental and discipline‑specific standards and insurance parameters. Plan, direct, and implement patient care using evidence‑based practice. Practice within the legal boundaries of Massachusetts licensure and applicable agencies. Direct licensed staff and other personnel as required, delegating duties appropriately. Follow infection control standards and maintain patient safety practices. Identify impairments, set realistic and measurable goals with patients, and develop appropriate plans of care. Implement treatment interventions and provide education/home‑exercise programs. Interact with patients and families compassionately, demonstrating confidence, empathy, and patience. Discharge patients when skilled therapy is no longer appropriate. Support South Shore Health mission, vision, and values; adhere to policies and procedures. Complete documentation, discharge, and charge entry according to departmental standards, ensuring clarity, timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with billing guidelines. Accurately capture charges and enter appropriate modifiers. Correct charges as needed; manage co‑treatment and concurrent/ group treatment sessions. Achieve 100% productivity in primary area(s). Professional Competencies Willingness to learn and use new technology and procedures; communicate effectively across written, verbal, and non‑verbal channels. Maintain proficiency with software applications required for job performance. Provide supervision of clinical students and engage in ongoing professional development. Use critical thinking for day‑to‑day operations and emergent situations; adhere to chain of command. Demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and professionalism in all interactions. Qualifications Minimum Education : BS, MS or DPT from an accredited physical therapy school. Experience : Prior clinical rehabilitation experience; orthopedic rehabilitation experience preferred. Licenses : Active Massachusetts PT license (MDPH‑DPH‑EOHHS). Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS).
