Details Med/Surg unit caring for a variety of medical-surgical patient types Patient ratios of 4-5:1 with a 15-bed unit Utilizes remote tele tech monitoring Heparin drips administered on unit Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts totaling 48 hrs per week (36 hrs can be accommodated if preferred) Weekend rotation required every other or every third weekend depending on staffing/census No on-call requirements Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Methodist West Hospital within contracted skillset/unit Requirements Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required Minimum 24 months of Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience required Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers) Epic EMR experience required Experience with Heparin required Telemetry/cardiac background highly preferred Recent charge or precept experience required Proficiency caring for all med surg patient types required Driver's license required for consideration Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 24 months preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care across a variety of med surg and telemetry cases as part of a growing, collaborative unit Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH market facility; this restriction does not apply to prior UPH travel assignment history American Traveler Job ID P-765949.
