Manufacturing Engineering PositionActalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Engineering opening with a manufacturer that serves the automotive industry that is located in Reading, PA. This person will be responsible for advancing manufacturing operations by developing, specifying, evaluating, and implementing safer, more repeatable, more reliable, and more cost-effective fabrication, assembly and finishing processes and equipment.Below is a summary of responsibilities for this position:Develop, design, specify, test and maintain records for production equipment, tooling, gauges, jigs, and fixtures to optimize manufacturing process, including safety, quality and efficiency by studying product requirements and applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materialsImprove manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layoutProject manage assembly and manufacturing projectsDesign and analyze labor and space requirements, product design, quality requirements, workflow, layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency, consistency and effectiveness of manufacturing and assembly operations and projectsCollaborate with design and manufacturing teams to design processes that produce product within product and process specificationsReview and analyze product sketches, designs, models, and drawings to make recommendations to improve manufacturability; provide design support for manufacturing projectsPromote company safety policies and develop technical solutions to improve operational safetyWork with maintenance team, and outside contractors to improve current equipment and processes, improve performance, and minimize equipment downtimeActively participate and provide support in the daily activities of production teamsSupport and participate in lean initiatives, and develop the assembly and manufacturing processes to provide customers with products that meet or exceed customer requirements and drive continuous safety, quality and productivity improvementsBelow is a summary of requirements for qualified candidates:Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferred)5+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Process EngineeringExperience with sheet metal manufacturing processes including fabrication, finishing, welding (both steel and aluminum), and material handling (preferred)Experience with DFM DRMEA/PFMEA and their applications (preferred)Experience with LEan Manufacturing (Preferred)Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Reading, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
