About the Role:
Metal Supermarkets in Louisville, KY is looking for an enthusiastic Counter Sales Associate to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your customer service skills with a hands-on, fast-paced environment in the metals industry. If you love helping customers find solutions and enjoy working with a great team, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Assist walk-in and phone customers with metal product selection, pricing, and order fulfillment
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale and order management systems
- Cut and prepare metal products to customer specifications
- Maintain showroom and counter area in a clean, organized, and professional manner
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business
- Receive, stock, and manage inventory of metal products including steel, aluminum, brass, and more
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
Requirements:
- Prior experience in counter sales, retail, or customer service preferred
- Ability to identify and work with various metal types and products is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude
- Basic math skills for measurements, pricing, and inventory management
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials (up to 50+ lbs) in a warehouse/retail environment
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and point-of-sale software
