Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care in a busy CVICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2 and occasionally 1:1, caring for heart and lung transplant recipients, LVAD patients, and patients recovering from coronary artery bypass and valve surgeries
• Titrate vasoactive and other cardiac drips in accordance with patient needs and physician orders
• Operate and monitor advanced cardiac devices including LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, and IABP
• Perform CRRT as required for applicable patient populations
• Collaborate with an intensivist-model care team, respiratory therapy staff assigned to the unit, and PCAs to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Float to other units as needed based on competency and census demands

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Texas
• Minimum of 3 years of ICU nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in a high-volume hospital environment
• CRRT training and competency required
• EPIC EMR proficiency required
• Ability to titrate vasoactive drips for cardiac patients
• Flexibility with scheduling based on unit needs, including every-other-weekend (EOW) and holiday availability

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Experience with advanced cardiac devices such as LVAD, Impella, and IABP
• Familiarity with hardwire cardiac monitoring
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma or large academic medical center environment
