Shift Schedule

Must have availability to work minimum of 30 hours per week . Scheduled hours will vary based on business needs.

Role Purpose

You're a positive, enthusiastic, people-focused individual with a passion for superfoods, healthy living, and (of course) fruit! As a Shift Leader at Playa Bowls, you serve as an extension of the management team, trusted to oversee shop operations in the absence of a manager. You're confident delegating tasks, leading by example, and making decisions that prioritize the needs of the shop and the team.

Key ResponsibilitiesShift Leadership & Operations

• Leads and manages all aspects of opening and closing shifts with consistency and attention to detail.
• Delegates tasks efficiently and responsibly to support smooth operations and team productivity.
• Ensures all tasks are completed efficiently and aligned with company standards and procedures.
• Maintains clear and timely communication with management regarding shift updates or operational issues.

Guest Experience & Quality

• Oversees food quality throughout the shift, ensuring freshness and discarding products when necessary.
• Handles and processes customer refunds accurately and professionally.
• Addresses and resolves guest concerns in a courteous, solution-oriented manner.

Inventory & Cash Handling

• Monitors and records inventory levels throughout the shift, including end-of-day counts.
• Accurately counts and reconciles the register, safe, and daily deposits.

Team & Brand Standards

• Acts as a role model by embodying and promoting the Playa Bowls mission, purpose, and core values.

• Shift execution: Opening and closing procedures are completed consistently and on standard.
• Cash accuracy: Register, safe, and deposits reconcile accurately each shift.
• Guest resolution: Concerns and refunds are handled professionally and promptly.
• Team productivity: Tasks are delegated effectively, keeping the shop running smoothly.

Experience & QualificationsRequired

• Committed to delivering exceptional customer service, with friendly, attentive service on every guest interaction.
• Ability to lead by example and adhere to company policies, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Proven ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled at prioritizing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Clear and effective communication with team members, managers, and guests, with the ability to delegate tasks concisely.
• Ability to stay composed and think quickly under pressure.
• Must pass the required PB Food Safety certification within 3 months of employment.

Preferred

• Demonstrated empathy, understanding, and active listening skills when addressing concerns or ideas from team members and customers.

Position Requirements

• Must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours a week.
• Must be available mornings, weekends, and expected to work as the business dictates.
• Must pass the required PB Food Safety certification within 3 months of employment.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or otherwise move 25–40 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to retrieve items from high and low shelving, the fridge/freezer, and under counters.
• Must be able to tolerate occasionally loud environments (high-powered blenders, timers, and order notifications).
• Ability to frequently move about inside the shop to access the POS, assemble guest orders, clear tables, restock inventory, etc.

Our mission is to bring superfruit bowls to the masses using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients while providing a fantastic in-store brand experience. What began with a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into a 400+ unit operator and franchisor of a leading fast-casual restaurant concept. Playa Bowls added 85 locations in 2025 and is on target to add 90+ new locations in 2026.
