Shipping Clerk
The Shipping Clerk supports day-to-day shipping and receiving operations in a manufacturing environment. This role receives and verifies incoming materials, prepares and packages outbound orders, processes shipments, generates invoices, and maintains accurate inventory records throughout the shipping process. The Shipping Clerk works closely with production, customer service, and other departments to ensure products ship accurately, on time, and in accordance with customer requirements.

6am to 2pm

$18-22 an hour
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unpack incoming materials and supplies in an organized and timely manner.
- Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect incoming materials for quantity, condition, and any discrepancies, and report issues as needed.
- Package materials securely and appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify quantities of outbound products and document shipment details for invoicing purposes.
- Process customer orders and generate accurate invoices upon job completion.
- Print and include packing slips and any required documentation with outbound shipments.
- Coordinate shipping methods and carriers based on customer requirements and specifications.
- Use shipping software and systems, including UPS and FedEx platforms, to create labels and process shipments.
- Collaborate with Customer Service when shipping instructions are unclear or require clarification.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient shipping and receiving area.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and inventory accuracy checks.
- Use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts to move materials safely.
- Load and unload trucks, pallets, and containers as part of daily shipping and receiving operations.
- Use RF scanners and related tools to track inventory, shipments, and material movement.
- Follow written instructions, shipping procedures, and workplace safety practices at all times.
- Communicate effectively with production, customer service, and leadership to support on-time delivery.
- Balance computer-based administrative tasks with hands-on packaging, picking, and material handling work.
Essential Skills:
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to accurately count, verify, and document inventory and shipments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written instructions and established shipping procedures.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Comfort working with shipping software and handling shipping documentation.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds safely.
- Experience with inventory, shipping and receiving, packing, picking, and material handling.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and basic warehouse inventory control practices.
- Availability to work a consistent MondayFriday first shift schedule (6:00 AM 2:00 PM).
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience.
- Experience using UPS WorldShip.
- Experience using FedEx shipping systems.
- Experience with ShopTech E2.
- Experience with M3 software.
- Manufacturing or machining industry experience.
- Experience with invoicing and shipping documentation.
- Experience using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Exposure to logistics, shipping software, and customer order fulfillment processes.

Work Environment:

You will work a first shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The position combines computer-based administrative tasks with hands-on packaging, material handling, and shipping activities. The work involves frequent lifting, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement throughout the shift, and requires the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. You will use technologies and equipment such as shipping software (including UPS and FedEx systems), RF scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts, and inventory control tools. The environment emphasizes close attention to detail, inventory accuracy, and shipment quality, and fosters a team-oriented culture with regular communication between production, customer service, and leadership.

Pay and Benefits:
