Unpaid Intern (Various Divisions/Chambers)

Internship (Unpaid) – Middlesex Vicinage The intern will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and supportive tasks related to court proceedings. Under the direction of court staff, responsibilities include greeting and directing court users, serving as a central welcome/information center, maintaining and distributing informational brochures and forms, and assisting with data entry, look‑ups, filing, and making photocopies. Weekly hours are flexible to accommodate the academic schedule of a college student. The position requires regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite. Qualifications Current undergraduate student at an accredited college or university. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience working with diverse populations is helpful. May receive college course credit if the student’s college participates. Essential Physical & Practical Requirements Ability to perform work that requires climbing, prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and reaching. Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies weighing 30 to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Driver’s license required only if operation of a vehicle is necessary for the essential duties. Authorization to Work US citizenship is not required. Selected candidates must be authorized to work in the US in accordance with Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations. Special Note Unpaid interns who are 18 years of age or older must agree to a thorough background check, including fingerprinting. All data collected will be kept confidential except as necessary to inform the individual of findings and any resulting actions.
