About the Role

Quality Tube USA is seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and production team in Midlothian, Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience in ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) steel pipe manufacturing , steel tube/pipe production, or a closely related metal manufacturing environment.

This is a leadership role for someone who understands the demands of a manufacturing floor and can balance safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, staffing, and customer requirements .

The Production Manager will work closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, HR, and other departments to ensure production goals are consistently met while developing a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations and ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met.
• Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors, leads, and hourly manufacturing employees.
• Monitor production performance, efficiency, scrap, downtime, quality, and overall productivity.
• Ensure employees follow company safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
• Identify production issues and work with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime.
• Partner with Quality to address defects, customer concerns, and process improvements.
• Manage staffing levels and work with HR on recruiting, training, attendance, performance, and employee relations.
• Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance and safety.
• Analyze production data and develop action plans to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Ensure standard operating procedures and work instructions are followed.
• Assist with production planning, scheduling, inventory coordination, and material availability.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment.
• Participate in investigations, corrective actions, and root-cause analysis.
• Communicate production results, challenges, and opportunities to leadership.
• Promote a positive workplace culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of progressive manufacturing/production leadership experience.
• Experience in steel pipe, steel tube, metal manufacturing, or a similar heavy manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and shop-floor operations.
• Proven experience leading and developing production teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Highly Preferred:

• ERW pipe/tube manufacturing experience.
• Experience with steel processing, forming, welding, sizing, cutting, finishing, or related pipe/tube operations.
• Experience working with production metrics such as OEE, scrap, downtime, throughput, and yield.
• Lean Manufacturing/continuous improvement experience.
• Experience working with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams.
• Experience in a start-up, expansion, or growing manufacturing facility.
