Job Description and Duties

Under the close supervision of the Supervisor I, the OT performs a variety of independent, sensitive, and detailed administrative duties related to the background check process. The OT has primary responsibility for the first step in the background check application process and various administrative tasks.

Applicants with knowledge of CCLD licensing laws, regulations and procedures, background check case management system, Licensing Information System (LIS), and the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and other common software programs are highly desirable and will be given priority consideration. Working Conditions

The OT position requires adaptability to a hybrid work schedule, with potential adjustments based on business needs. CPMB is in Rancho Cordova with free parking on-site. Many restaurants including Starbucks, Sandwich Spot and Subway are located within one mile of the office.

This position is eligible for  hybrid work  in accordance with the Governor’s and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time.  The incumbent  will  be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies.  The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Please note: Regular commute is not compensable.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are temporary in nature and shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
