Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Pasadena, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on facilities maintenance professional who enjoys solving problems, keeping buildings safe and functional, and supporting daily operations in a stable government and public sector environment.

The Maintenance Technician will perform skilled maintenance and repair work across buildings, equipment, grounds, and common areas while also providing guidance to less experienced maintenance staff. As the organization continues to grow, this position will also take on increased responsibility for coordinating outside vendors, overseeing contractor work, and helping ensure facilities projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine and skilled maintenance repairs, including plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical work, painting, flooring, locks, doors, windows, appliances, and general facility repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and common areas to identify maintenance needs, prioritize repairs, and support safe operations.
- Maintain landscaping, irrigation systems, grounds, pest control needs, tools, equipment, supplies, and general cleanliness of assigned areas.
- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee work performed by external vendors and contractors, ensuring scope, schedule, safety, and quality expectations are met.
- Develop basic scopes of work, recommend whether repairs should be handled internally or outsourced, and assist with tracking work completion, project costs, and maintenance documentation.
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to maintenance staff while managing multiple workstreams, priorities, and site needs.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour.
- Employment type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Pasadena, CA.
