UX Designer

Our Client is seeking an experienced UX Designer Intermediate to support the ONE Access Program. This role combines UX/UI design with hands-on front-end development, taking concepts from wireframes and interactive prototypes through to responsive, accessible web interfaces.
The successful candidate must have a strong design portfolio and proven experience working with Adobe XD or similar prototyping tools, HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript, and WordPress or comparable CMS platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, user-centered interfaces for web applications.
- Create wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and other UX design artifacts.
- Translate UX designs and prototypes into functional interfaces using HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript.
- Develop reusable and responsive UI components for web applications.
- Maintain and enhance existing web application interfaces, layouts, and content.
- Support content updates using WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
- Ensure interfaces comply with responsive design, accessibility, usability, and web standards.
- Apply WCAG accessibility best practices across web experiences.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams throughout the design lifecycle.
- Iterate designs based on stakeholder feedback, usability findings, and technical constraints.
- Support cross-browser compatibility and web performance considerations.
- Participate in Agile and/or Waterfall application delivery environments.
- Maintain appropriate design and technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.
Mandatory Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant UX/UI design experience.
- Proven experience designing UX interfaces for web applications.
- Strong hands-on experience converting designs into HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated experience with Adobe XD or similar wireframing/prototyping tools.
- Experience maintaining and updating web applications, layouts, and content.
- Experience using WordPress or a similar CMS.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design.
- Strong understanding of accessible and user-centered design principles.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions and technical constraints.
Nice to Have
- Experience with public-facing or enterprise web applications.
- Ontario/public-sector experience.
- Experience within healthcare, health IT, or regulated environments.
- Experience with design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Strong knowledge of WCAG and accessibility standards.
- Experience collaborating with development teams in Agile environments.
- Understanding of cross-browser compatibility and front-end performance optimization.
