The Network Domain refers to the area within Information Technology that focuses on the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of an organization's networking infrastructure. This domain encompasses various activities, tools, and technologies required to ensure the efficient and secure transmission of data between devices, systems, and locations. The scope includes WAN, LAN, Firewalls, Akamai, LTM's and GTM's. What you'll doWrite/engineer network device configuration scripts with associated change documentation to meet project goals and deadlinesImplement network changes during appropriate change windows (after hours) Review and provide feedback on change documentation/engineering of other engineersEstablish processes to test applications and devices before planned network deployment to quantify their performance and recommend steps to ensure they are optimizedServe as second-tier support for network operations team when neededParticipate in on-call support escalation rotation Translate business needs into actionable deliverablesManage small/medium internal data network projectsCreate detailed network designs that meet the customer requirements (including physical and logical) of complex network systems to meet the functional objectives of the businessServe as a technical resource providing guidance and advice to associates on data, voice, and mobile network capabilities for utilizing the full capability of technology in designing effective solutions All you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience​Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training3+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceMaster's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training Airline Industry experienceSkills, Licenses & Certifications​Proficiency with the following technologies: Programming Languages: Java, Python, C#, Javascript/Typescript Source Control: GitHub, Azure DevOpsCICD: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Integration/APIs Technologies: Kafka, REST, GraphQL Cloud Providers: Azure and AWSConfigure and manage Azure networking components such as Virtual Network, Load Balancer, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and NSGConfigure and manage AWS networking components such as VPC, Direct ConnectStrong experience in building site to site VPN tunnels for both Cisco and Palo Alto’s platformSenior Level experience with Data Center infrastructure solutions: VPN, Cisco (Route and Switch), Palo Alto and Fortinet firewallsIndustry Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE is desired Demonstrated expertise with protocol analyzers, and test equipment is desiredExperience working with network tools such as CA Spectrum and Wireshark Expert knowledge on Cisco routers, Cisco L2/L3 switches, load balancing, QOS, VPN, NAT, VoIP, IPSec, Multicast, DNS services, MPLS networks, network protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, SNMP, VLAN Trunking), and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)Strong knowledge of Spanning-tree protocols (PVST,MSTP,RSTP) Experience working with Velocloud/Viptela SDWAN/Aruba/Meraki/Nexus/Palo Alto Firewalls/Zscaler equipment is an advantage Basic understanding of public cloud and Azure cloud networking Experience working with Microsoft Azure is a plus Firewall troubleshooting skill  What you'll getFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
