Units and Orientation Units with availability include Surgical Specialty, Float Pool, Critical Care Float Pool, Medical Telemetry, Medical Surgical, and Ortho Neuro. Sign-on bonus offered for eligible full-time night shift positions on Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Cardiac & Progressive Care Units (not combinable with other bonuses or HCA loans/scholarships). A $5,000 relocation bonus is offered for those more than 50 miles from our hospitals. We are FULL IN Mother Baby, Labor and Delivery, NICU at Menorah Medical Center for New Graduates (less than 1 year RN experience). The HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to give you hands-on experience to help establish clinical and critical thinking skills. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse you will be surrounded by nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents that promote learning, clinical application, and socialization, guiding you through the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. Job Summary And Qualifications The HCA Nurse Residency Program provides the tools needed to succeed in today’s hospital environment. This paid program assists with the transition from classroom to clinical practice through learning experiences, including: Advanced clinical training in a specialty area Monthly educational sessions Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor Hands-on simulations to measure and evaluate skills Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders Collaboration on an evidence-based practice project Start dates are flexible and run every two weeks throughout the year to accommodate graduation dates, relocation, vacations, and NCLEX preparation. The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with department requirements and state standards. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN Resident acts as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an exceptional patient experience. What will you do in this role Assess patient condition during admission and at scheduled shifts, identifying and reporting changes in status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider. Document care in the patient record in a timely manner. Administer prescribed medications, monitor response, and notify/consult with the provider if needed. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating needs. Educate patients, families and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up steps. What qualifications you will need Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment Other certifications may be required during employment Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, completed prior to start date (opportunities up to 8 months in advance) Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State; licensure required prior to start date per Kansas guidelines No prior experience required Menorah Medical Center is a full-service, 150+ bed acute care hospital located in Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas.
