This position will supervise, train, and inspect the performance of assigned Housekeeping staff ensuring that all procedures are completed to the established standards. This person will assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.ResponsibilitiesTeam LeadershipSupervise, coach, and support Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants, Housepersons, and other housekeeping team members.Conduct daily departmental briefings and communicate assignments, priorities, hotel activities, and operational updates.Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance.Provide training and coaching to employees on proper housekeeping procedures and hotel standards.Recognize strong performance and address performance concerns promptly and professionally.Assist with scheduling and staffing needs based on hotel occupancy and business levels.Guest Room & Public Area OperationsInspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and proper presentation.Ensure rooms are cleaned according to Magnolia Hotel and Marriott brand standards.Conduct quality inspections before rooms are released for sale when applicable.Follow up on guest requests, housekeeping-related complaints, and service recovery opportunities.Communicate maintenance issues, damaged items, and safety concerns to the appropriate department.Ensure lost-and-found procedures are followed consistently and accurately.Operations & ProductivityMonitor room attendant productivity and ensure daily assignments are completed within established timeframes.Coordinate room status updates with the Front Desk and other hotel departments.Assist with daily room assignments and prioritize rooms based on arrivals, departures, VIPs, stayovers, and special requests.Monitor housekeeping supplies, linens, amenities, and equipment.Report supply shortages, damaged equipment, and maintenance needs to management.Assist with inventory control and proper storage of housekeeping supplies.Safety & ComplianceEnsure employees follow OSHA, hotel safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.Report workplace injuries, accidents, hazards, and unsafe conditions immediately.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Ensure employees use appropriate personal protective equipment when required.Maintain confidentiality regarding guests, employees, and hotel operations.Administrative ResponsibilitiesComplete daily housekeeping reports, inspection forms, productivity reports, and other required documentation.Communicate staffing, attendance, guest service, maintenance, and operational concerns to the Director of Housekeeping.Assist with employee training and onboarding.Participate in departmental meetings and hotel leadership meetings as requested.Support hotel initiatives, employee engagement activities, and company programs.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous housekeeping experience required; supervisory experience in a hotel environment preferred.Strong understanding of hotel housekeeping procedures and guest service standards.Ability to inspect rooms and identify cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation issues.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, guests, and other departments.Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hotel environment.Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift as required.Ability to lift and carry housekeeping supplies and equipment.Ability to navigate stairs and hotel guest room floors as necessary.Ability to work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods.Key CompetenciesLeadership & Team DevelopmentAttention to DetailGuest ServiceCommunicationAccountabilityOrganization & Time ManagementProblem SolvingQuality AssuranceSafety AwarenessProfessionalismBenefits & PerksWe offer a competitive benefits package for full-time team members, including:Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability)401(k) with company matchGenerous PTO and wellness supportHotel stay discounts + team member room night programAccess to CoralTree development programs and career growth opportunitiesComplimentary daily mealsSuccess in This PositionSuccess in the Housekeeping Supervisor role is demonstrated by consistently clean and well-maintained guest rooms and public areas, strong room inspection scores, effective communication with other departments, timely completion of housekeeping assignments, positive guest feedback, and a well-trained, engaged, and accountable housekeeping team.
