Responsibilities:

Draw high-quality blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.

Prepare and label specimens accurately for lab testing, ensuring patient safety and specimen integrity.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.

Communicate procedures effectively to patients, creating an environment of trust and confidence.

Maintain proper documentation and records in accordance with company policies and healthcare regulations.

Follow all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and confidentiality guidelines to uphold a professional environment.

Assist with other clinical tasks as assigned, supporting lab operations and patient care.

Travel to multiple locations within the assigned service area, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites, often on short notice.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence, contributing to a positive team culture and quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collection.

Proficiency in performing error-free blood draws, with strong technical skills across diverse patient populations.

Certification in phlebotomy preferred; in some states, required.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients.

Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities, and work efficiently in a high-volume setting.

Sound judgment and decision-making abilities based on established protocols.

Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, especially when traveling between locations.

Keyboard and data entry experience for accurate record-keeping.

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant or paramedic training.

Previous experience working in a Patient Service Center environment.

Familiarity with healthcare information systems and electronic medical records.

Experience working flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Medical assisting certification or equivalent medical training.

Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience in clinical settings.

Experience in pediatric and geriatric blood collection across diverse environments.

Other Requirements:

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, with short-notice travel between multiple sites.

Must be punctual, reliable, and committed to adhering to all policies including safety, dress code, and confidentiality.

Ability to lift and handle specimens, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks associated with blood collection.

Must list a home city and commute time requiring you to be within 20-25 minutes of the worksite on your resume.
