Mission Analysis Engineer - Millennium Space Systems Company: Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS). As a Mission Analysis Engineer on the Mission Analysis Engineering Team, you will serve as Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for all modeling, simulation, and analysis related to a program, study, or proposal. Your work will include developing methods to simulate mission scenarios, assessing end‑to‑end constellation capabilities, designing and implementing image processing, inertial tracking, state estimation, and optimal control algorithms for sensor systems, and providing tools and platforms to validate system performance during on‑orbit mission operations. Position Responsibilities Build and maintain simulations for large satellite constellations to assess effectiveness against mission requirements Own the EO/IR image processing algorithms chain, from photon to warfighter Create models for space vehicle payloads to use in system trades and performance predictions Develop novel algorithms, models, and data processing schemes for EO/IR sensing and tracking systems Develop Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) and Design Reference Mission (DRM) modeling and simulation Collaborate with software and firmware teams to develop platforms for simulation deployment (e.g., software/hardware‑in‑the‑loop) Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is required. A final U.S. Top Secret clearance is mandatory post‑start. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) 9+ years of experience in aerospace systems design, analysis, and/or operation Bachelor’s degree in engineering, the physical sciences, or computer science Experience in modeling and simulation of complex satellite systems using tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Python, or C++ Experience with EO/IR optical systems and image‑processing algorithms Experience in orbital mechanics and kinematic state estimation Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (interim and/or final Top Secret post‑start) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) 14+ years’ experience in satellite design and/or operation Experience with government‑furnished image models such as ASSET, PRA Toolkit, or AFSIM Proficiency with hardware description languages such as VHDL, Verilog, and Vitis Model Composer Experience with satellite space–to–space communication networks Technical leadership experience, including requirements V&V, delegation, management of technical tasks, REA experience, and cost account management Active TS/SCI clearance Conflict of Interest Successful candidates must satisfy the company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.
