Backend Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

Responsibilities Deliver complex backend features end-to-end with minimal supervision, ensuring high quality and timely completion. Mentor and support other developers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing to boost team capability. Take ownership of core functions or domain areas within the team and expand influence across multiple teams. Lead efforts to improve team processes, including code quality, testing, and documentation standards. Collaborate closely with Product Owners, QA, DevOps, and fellow engineers to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. Serve as a technical expert and informal leader, fostering continuous improvement and technical excellence. Qualifications Strong proficiency in the Java/JVM ecosystem. Clear motivation to learn and adopt Kotlin as a primary language, with motivation to grow into it quickly. Proven ability to design and implement complex backend solutions simply and effectively. Solid understanding of performance, security, and maintainability best practices. Experience across full software development lifecycle and CI/CD workflows. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Demonstrated willingness to mentor and support team members. Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and pragmatic problem-solving.
