Instructional Assistant

Overview Instructional Assistant — We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated individual to join our educational team to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at various levels of ability. The Instructional Assistant will work closely with special education teachers to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and provide direct assistance to students in academic, social, and behavioral activities. Position Type: Support Staff/ Teacher Assistant Date Posted: 11/11/2025 Location: New Milford Public School District Date Available: asap Responsibilities Assist in the implementation of IEPs by working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts. Support students in developing social skills, communication, and independence. Provide support in daily activities, including transitions, personal care needs, and classroom organization. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with students with Autism or other special needs is a plus, but not required. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the growth and development of students with special needs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment. Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing professional development and training. Training Comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate to ensure they are fully equipped to support students effectively.
