Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is responsible for providing specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role requires ensuring patient safety, supporting surgical team operations, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and prepare patients for surgical procedures, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to protocols.
• Assist the surgical team by maintaining a sterile environment and managing surgical instruments.
• Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout surgery, reporting any deviations.
• Document all perioperative activities accurately in the charting system.
• Respond promptly to intraoperative issues and support crisis management when necessary.
• Follow hospital policies on PPE, infection control, and safety standards, including proper scrubs.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid RN license and relevant operating room certification.
• Have at least 2 years of circulating experience in OR settings.
• Experience with orthopedic, podiatry, gynecology, and laparoscopic procedures preferred.
• Ability to assist with scrubbing procedures is a strong advantage.
• Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Be flexible to take rotating on-call shifts, including weekends and evenings.
