Who We Are

Legendary Eats is a locally owned company building Potbelly Sandwich Shops across Long Island and Queens. We're opening our first shop in New Hyde Park and growing from there. We pay above market because we believe great shops are built by great people, and we promote from within as we grow.

The Role

You set the shop up to win before the first guest walks in. You slice the meats and cheeses, prep the vegetables, soups and sides, and stock the line so the lunch rush runs smooth. Most shifts start early, and you'll get the shop ready alongside the opening Shift Lead.

What You Own on Every Shift

Slicing and Prep

• Slice meats and cheeses on the commercial slicer to Potbelly spec and portion
• Prep vegetables, toppings, soups, salads, and sides to the daily prep sheet
• Bake cookies and prep shake and dessert items to recipe
• Hit prep pars before open so the line never runs out at lunch

Slicer Safety

• Use the slicer with the guard in place and cut-resistant gloves on, every time
• Break down, clean, and sanitize the slicer on schedule and whenever you switch products
• Never leave a running slicer, and report any damage or problem right away

Food Safety and Storage

• Label and date everything you prep, and rotate stock first in, first out
• Check and log cooler and freezer temperatures
• Keep raw and ready-to-eat items apart and follow allergen procedures
• Keep the prep area, walk-in, and dish area clean and organized

Truck Days and the Line

• Receive deliveries, check them against the order, and put product away correctly
• Restock the line, chips, and cooler before and during service
• Jump on the line during the lunch rush when the shift needs you

Where This Goes

Prep Crew who know the back of house cold are first in line to cross-train on the line, become Certified Trainers, and move up to Shift Lead. We're building toward 15 shops, and we look inside first when we promote.
