Registered Behavior Technician

Position Summary The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct one‑on‑one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT helps reduce challenging behaviors, teaches new skills, and supports clients—often children with autism or developmental delays—in home, clinic, school, and community settings. 

Responsibilities 

• Implement individualized ABA treatment plans created by the supervising BCBA. 

• Use evidence‑based strategies to reduce challenging behaviors. 

• Teach communication, social, academic, and daily living skills. 

• Collect accurate, real‑time data on client behavior and skill acquisition. 

• Complete session notes and maintain compliance with organizational and insurance requirements. 

• Follow all RBT ethics, HIPAA guidelines, and BACB standards. 

• Communicate professionally with BCBAs, caregivers, and team members. 

• Participate in ongoing training and supervision. 

Required Qualifications 

• Active RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). 

• High school diploma or equivalent (some employers prefer college coursework or a degree). 

• Ability to work with children and individuals with developmental disabilities. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to collect and record behavioral data accurately. 

• Physical ability to lift 25–50 lbs, sit on the floor, and engage in active play. 

• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience providing ABA therapy. 

• RBT certificate required

• Experience working with children. 

• Bilingual (Spanish preferred but not required).
