Capital Oversight Manager

Location 127 Public Square, Cleveland Ohio Overview Market & Treasury Risk Management (MTRM) operates under the guidance of the Chief Market & Treasury Risk Officer within the Risk Management organization to provide independent risk oversight of market risk, liquidity risk, capital, and the firm’s overall risk‑weighted assets. The team analyzes interest rate risk, investment portfolios, derivatives hedging, and capital management activities, offering an independent perspective on business decisions and strategies. The Capital Oversight Manager reports to the Sr. Director – Head of Capital and Liquidity Risk Oversight and is responsible for leading governance, compliance, and strategic initiatives related to capital adequacy, planning, stress testing, and risk‑weighted assets. The manager will guide associates, develop subject‑matter expertise, and deliver data‑driven solutions to predictive and prescriptive questions across multiple business lines. Essential Job Functions Capital Oversight & Governance Provide independent oversight of the firm’s capital management framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite. Oversee capital adequacy assessments, forecasting, and buffer management across baseline and stress scenarios. Assess the robustness of capital methodologies, assumptions, limitations, and controls related to stress testing, CCAR, and internal processes. Stress Testing & CCAR Lead oversight of the firm’s regulatory and internal stress-testing programs, including CCAR and enterprise stress tests. Review scenario definitions, capital actions, projections, and key outputs to ensure they are supported, reasonable, and regulator‑ready. Provide challenge to assumptions, scenarios, and sensitivities, partnering with other risk disciplines as needed. Risk‑Weighted Assets (RWA) Oversee governance and monitoring of RWA calculations, drivers, and trends across business lines. Review RWA methodologies and changes related to regulatory updates or business shifts. Leadership & Management Directly manage and develop a team of capital oversight professionals, providing coaching, performance management, and career development. Set clear objectives, prioritize initiatives, and ensure high‑quality deliverables across the team. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting Partner with Finance, Treasury, Model Risk, Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, and senior management to drive strong capital governance. Prepare and present capital oversight materials to senior management and internal governance committees. Interact with regulators on capital‑related matters, including examinations, inquiries, and ongoing supervision. Required Qualifications Master’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting, statistics, mathematics, economics, financial engineering, data science, predictive modeling, or a related quantitative discipline and at least 5 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the above disciplines and at least 6 years of relevant experience. Evaluation of competing analysis methods. Leading data initiatives through partnership, policy development, and setting standards for analytic tools. Promoting efficient data analysis by clarifying requirements. Technology & Techniques Advanced Microsoft Office Suite. SQL / NoSQL data access. Relationship data structures. Retrieval of structured and unstructured data, archival, and ETL processes. Databases and cloud‑based computing. Advanced Python / R / SAS coding, with robust controls and the ability to translate code into high‑level commentary. Distributed computing frameworks. Model Building & Maintenance Establish standards and best practices for future modeling tools. Identify, employ, and evangelize emerging techniques from industry and research. Coach others on data‑modeling methods and techniques. Facilitate sessions for complex data models and assess risks with contingency plans. Communicate observations to senior executives and translate technical insights to non‑technical audiences. Compensation And Benefits This position earns a base salary in the range of $116,000.00 - $216,000.00 annually, with eligibility for incentive compensation (production, commission, or discretionary incentives). Placement within the pay range may vary based on skills, experience, and geographic location.
