Robert Half has partnered with a growing services firm on their search for a Staff Accountant with stable accounting skills. The responsibilities for this Staff Accountant role consist of handling general accounting operations such as assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities, reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing financial reports, assisting with financial research, processing vendor payments, maintaining internal controls, performing cost analysis, providing customer service as needed and collaborating with financial and executive leadership. The ideal candidate for this role should have possessed great day-to-day accounting abilities in compliance with legal industry standards and firm policies. We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills and can maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the overall financial health of the firm.

Everyday Responsibilities

·      Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger

·      Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations and financial reporting (4-day close cycle)

·      Support inventory and cost accounting processes within a manufacturing setting

·      Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies

·      Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis

·      Work cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial data and reporting

·      Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls

The ideal Staff Accountant will preferably have an Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

Other requirements for the Staff Accountant role include and are not limited to:

·      2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting

·      CPA preferred

·      Regulatory, utility, energy industry, FERC, or SEC reporting experience is a significant plus

·      Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

·      Solid understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance

·      Excellent communication skills
