Associate Director of Strategic Accounts, GPO

Becton Dickinson & Co

Associate Director overseeing strategic group purchasing organization (GPO) account relationships and commercial growth for a medical technology company operating across multiple U.S. locations. The role involves developing GPO strategy, driving revenue growth, managing contracts, and collaborating cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive GPO strategy aligned to corporate growth and profitability goals
Build executive relationships with national and regional GPO organizations and drive contract utilization expansion
Lead commercial input into GPO contract negotiations, renewals, and evaluate profitability structures
Partner with field sales and cross-functional teams to develop targeted growth plans and market strategies
Represent company at GPO meetings and industry events; communicate market insights to senior leadership

Requirements

Proven experience with major GPO platforms: Healthtrust, Vizient, and Premier
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Executive-level relationship management and strategic account development skills
Healthcare industry knowledge including reimbursement, IDN structures, and contracting
Commercial acumen in contract negotiation, pricing, and financial performance analysis
Cross-functional collaboration and internal stakeholder alignment ability
