Job Title: Senior Mechanical/Process Piping Designer

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Piping Designer to play a pivotal role in the expansion and optimization of our large-scale manufacturing infrastructure. You will be the technical lead for complex utility and process piping systems, responsible for taking projects from conceptual design through to field installation and final punch-list.
This is a high-autonomy role that blends hands-on fieldwork with advanced 3D modeling. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to translate engineering concepts into high-quality construction documents, conduct field verifications to ensure design alignment, and act as the primary design representative for mechanical systems during the construction phase. If you are an expert at resolving complex design conflicts and enjoy the challenge of working on "next-generation" utility systems, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting Leadership
• Technical Ownership: Develop and maintain high-quality 2D and 3D drawing packages (Revit/AutoCAD). This includes piping layouts, equipment arrangements, schedules, P&IDs, and detailed flow diagrams for both gas-side and water-side utility systems (HVAC, Hydronics, Fire Protection).
• Model Coordination: Leverage Navisworks to perform rigorous model reviews, identify spatial conflicts, and ensure seamless integration between mechanical/piping systems and existing field conditions.
• Standards & Documentation: Produce detailed isometric views and custom installation details for complex system nodes. Maintain drawing control and ensure all deliverables adhere to strict site-specific design and code standards.

Field Execution & Collaboration
• Field Verification: Conduct regular site walks to assess existing conditions, verify field measurements, and ensure final implementation aligns with design intent.
• Project Liaison: Partner with engineering leads, construction trades, and equipment manufacturers to build utility requirement packages. Act as the point of contact for RFI and submittal support during the construction phase.
• Mentorship: Provide leadership to the design team, including training, mentorship, and work estimation for junior staff. Participate in code reviews and multi-disciplinary design status meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: 5-15 years of progressive CAD drafting and mechanical design experience within a high-tech or process-oriented industrial environment.
• Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; extensive model review experience in Navisworks.
• Systems Knowledge: Thorough understanding of process piping (pipe routing, valves/instrumentation) and mechanical utility systems.
• Physical Capability: Ability to navigate active construction sites, including climbing ladders, working on catwalks, and performing detailed site walks.

Preferred Attributes
• Proven ability to act as a "Lead Designer" for large-scale utility systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail-you understand that design accuracy is what prevents costly installation delays in the field.
• Strong "Service-Oriented" mindset; you prioritize clear communication with both internal engineering teams and external contractors.
