We are seeking an experienced  Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will assist with medication preparation and distribution, sterile compounding, inventory management, and automated dispensing systems while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with pharmacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and fill medication orders for pharmacist verification and dispensing.
• Prepare sterile IV medications and compounded preparations using aseptic technique.
• Replenish medication carts, trays, kits, and automated dispensing cabinets.
• Deliver medications throughout the hospital using pneumatic tube systems, courier, or hand delivery.
• Process medication returns, stock replenishment, and inventory control activities.
• Monitor medication expiration dates, remove expired products, and assist with medication recalls.
• Operate and maintain automated dispensing machines, including resolving discrepancies and restocking medications.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with pharmacy policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure timely medication delivery and excellent patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Previous  oncology or infusion center experience preferred.
• Current active registration with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication distribution, sterile compounding, inventory management, and automated dispensing systems.
• Experience preparing IV medications using aseptic technique and handling hazardous medications preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Important Details:

• 13-week contract position (extensions available)
• Shift is 7 nights on / 7 nights off (Thursday start), followed by 7 consecutive days off , 10.5 hrs/day, 36 hrs/week
• Location is Morristown, NJ 07960
• Pay Rate for Locals: $23 - $25 Hourly
• Only locals accepted within 50 miles of Morristown, NJ 07960
