Nurse Practitioner

Overview

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Days/Nights rotating, every fourth weekend, holiday rotation.

Essential Functions

• Assess patients and/or populations; develop, implement and evaluate plans of care; clearly document and communicate information in written and verbal forms.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established guidelines and standards for patient care.
• Utilize evidence-based practice and serve as a clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills.
• Assist in the education, training and development of new and existing staff members.
• Engage in the workplace community; stay aware of changes, participate in data collection or audits; engage in quality improvement.
• Leverage technology and informatics to optimize healthcare outcomes.
• Commit to continued professional development of self and others.
• Contribute to division, specialty goals and the Hospital Strategic Plan.

Education

Master of Science degree or equivalent required.

Licensure

Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Ohio.

Certifications

Maintain national certification as APRN in the appropriate population foci or PA, required.

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally: Bend/twist, exposure to blood and/or bodily fluids, chemicals/medications, climb stairs/ladder, communicable diseases, driving; additional testing may be required; flexing/extending of neck; hand use: grasping, gripping, turning; lifting/carrying 0–10 lbs, 11–20 lbs, 21–40 lbs; patient equipment; pushing/pulling 0–25 lbs, 26–40 lbs, 41–60 lbs, 61–100 lbs with assistance; reaching above shoulder; squatting/kneeling.
• Frequently: repetitive hand/arm use, standing, walking.
• Continuously: audible speech, color vision, computer skills, decision making, depth perception, hearing acuity, interpreting data, peripheral vision, problem solving, seeing–far/near, sitting.
