Remote Senior BI Engineer

Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer – Data & Business Intelligence Alignment Health is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to design and develop cloud-based BI and analytics services using the Microsoft BI Platform and Microsoft Azure cloud services. The role is fully remote and focuses on translating business requirements into actionable reports, dashboards, and data architecture enhancements. Responsibilities Translate business requirements into specifications for reports and dashboards. Work with business units to gather and deliver business intelligence and reporting services, leading end‑to‑end BI delivery. Develop and implement BI and analytics solutions to support organizational initiatives. Build rich, dynamic dashboards using out‑of‑box features, customizations, and visualizations. Design, model, develop, and optimize stored procedures for data management and reporting objectives. Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data sets feeding the analytics platforms are tuned for optimal performance. Advise power users on best practices for BI reporting and troubleshooting issues. Define and improve standardized and ad‑hoc analytics and reporting capabilities. Provide input into technical architecture and the data warehouse technology stack. Create functional and technical design documents and maintain documentation for all reports and dashboards. Supervise overseas staff: orient and train employees, assign workload, and monitor job results. Qualifications 7+ years of business intelligence and reporting experience, including Power BI. 7+ years of experience with MS SQL Server and related database technologies. Extensive hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power BI, SSRS, SSAS, Azure Data Factory, and other cloud‑based BI services. Knowledge of healthcare industry standards, data terminology, and HIPAA protocols. Experience in healthcare industry is required; experience with Big Data/Azure Data Platform, Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus. BS in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience. Microsoft Azure certification is a plus. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships, plan and execute complex analytics projects, and present information to managers and customers. Strong appreciation of timeliness and ability to multitask within project timelines. Compensation Pay Range: $130,332.00 - $195,498.00 (may vary based on location, education, responsibilities, and experience).
