Service Dispatcher

Location: Bayside, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-5:00 PM
Pay: DOE
After-hours: Rotating emergency/after-hours coverage may be required.

Core responsibilities

• Receive service requests via phone, email, portal, and voicemail .

• Create and update service tickets, customer records, schedules, notes, and status updates .

• Schedule and dispatch technicians based on availability, skill set, location, urgency, parts, and customer commitments .

• Monitor technicians, job progress, delays, and completed work.

• Communicate schedule changes and delays with customers.

• Coordinate with technicians, service management, purchasing, technical support, and office staff.

• Review and close work orders and coordinate follow-up work.

• Handle assigned emergency or after-hours calls.

Minimum requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least 2 years of experience in one or more of:

  • Dispatch

  • Scheduling

  • Customer service

  • Service coordination

  • Office operations

• Experience using a CRM, work-order, dispatch, scheduling, or field-service management system .

• Strong communication, organization, data entry, prioritization, and follow-up skills.

• Ability to handle multiple technicians, customers, schedules, and changing priorities.

• Comfortable using email, calendars, spreadsheets, and digital records .

Preferred experience

The industry experience is preferred, not mandatory :

• Fire alarm/fire protection

• Electrical

• Low voltage

• HVAC

• Security

• Mechanical

• Construction

• Facilities service

Also preferred:

• Emergency/on-call/after-hours dispatch experience.

• Coordinating technician schedules, parts, service tickets, and follow-up work.
