Field Service Mechanic BLocation: Sun Valley, CA, USA, 91352 | North Hollywood, CA, USA, 91601Employment Status: Full-timeJob Purpose:As a Field Service Mechanic B, you are an expert technician and will assume a support role in product knowledge and standards of quality within the branch. You will serve as a valued resource for utilizing your mechanical expertise to ensure Herc fleet remain in proper operating condition on our customer jobsites, at all times. Field Service Mechanics are dispatched to local jobsites at various times of the day and work independently without direct supervision. This provides the opportunity to build positive relationships with customers all while supporting the growth and improvement of your community.What You Will Do:Maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer job sitesOversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted servicesDiagnose and repair heavy equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition at the job siteDiagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and propane systemsRecondition and replace assorted parts to return equipment to a safely functioning stateEducating customers on proper use of equipment to avoid future breakdownsAnalyze problem areas for any significant wear or tear and address to ensure proper usage of the equipment until your next scheduled visitAdhere to all safety guidelines posted at active jobsite where repairs and maintenance are completedMaintain work area on jobsite in a clean and organized mannerProduce timely and detailed service reports and repair logsFollow all company's filed procedures and protocolsBuild positive relationships with customersPerform additional duties as assignedRequirements:Highschool diploma or equivalentAbility to understand detailed technical schematics, owner manuals, and product warning labelsOwnership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and servicesAbility to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipmentAbility to be on call to support operational needsA valid driver's licenseSkills:Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipmentAbility to follow up with customers in a timely mannerAbility to handle assorted tools properly and safelyAbility to safely lift up to 50 LBsAttention to detailCustomer service skills to naturally converse with jobsite foremanFlexibility to adapt to changing needs on an active jobsiteInterpersonal skills to communicate effectively and efficientlyMust possess solid written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform basic computer operations such as opening and closing work ordersSolid and proven computer skill set to enter work ordersUnderstanding the importance of time managementWorks and communicates effectively with all levels of the companyPay Range: $36-$42Herc Rentals values its employees and provides excellent compensation and benefits packages which are not limited to the following:Keeping You Healthy:Medical, Dental, and Vision CoverageLife and disability insuranceFlex spending and health savings accountsVirtual Health Visits24 Hour Nurse LineHealthy Pregnancy ProgramTobacco Cessation ProgramWeight Loss ProgramBuilding Your Financial Future:401(k) plan with company matchEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramLife & Work Harmony:Paid Time Off (Holidays, Vacations, Sick Days)Paid parental leave.
