Job Summary Dispensesprescriptions to students, faculty, and staff Primary Duties and Responsibilities Adheres to University, Mississippi Board ofPharmacy, AAAHC accrediting agency and department policies, procedures,and regulations. Manages day-to-day operations of pharmacy. Givesclinical advice to medical staff and patient drug consultations onmedication and effects of medication. Counts pills, affixes labels, and verifiesinstructions and medication, interacts with patients, physicians, and otherstaff from prescribing facilities and the public. Counsels patients on drugusage. Checks charts for drug interactions or drug contraindications. Takesprescriptions over the telephone from doctor’s offices. Appropriately transfersprescriptions as needed to and from other pharmacies Maintains daily records and drug logs for legal requirements and auditor. Maintains inventory and purchasing practices accordingto state purchasing contracts and internal auditing. Generates labels and updates patientinformation in record-keeping system Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Registered pharmacist from a fullyaccredited training program. Licensed pharmacist in the state of Mississippi ingood standing. Registered and licensedto dispense controlled substances. 1 year experience as a licensed pharmacist.
