Job Purpose: This position is responsible for creating, designing, implementing, and continually improving training programs for nurses and allied health clinicians.

Essential Functions: (Examples of Duties)

• Performs training needs analysis to gather information and target future training opportunities. Evaluates current programs for relevance and successful outcomes.
• Develops and administers training assessment, analyzes results, makes recommendations for training improvement, and integrates changes in curriculum and/or courses.
• Assist in the onboarding of new clinical staff. Determine and communicate competencies to specific department supervisors.
• Coaches and facilitates the professional development and clinical abilities of clinical staff.
• Presents a variety of clinical training programs. Conducts train-the-trainer sessions to enable others to teach these programs.
• Monitors various reports to ensure accuracy and quality in care.
• Participates in various clinical committees.
• Assist with maintaining training and compliance records and documentation to ensure compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements/Qualifications: (Describe minimum qualifications, preferred or required)

Current CPR certification

Education :

Minimum of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN).

Experience:

Minimum of three to five years of experience as clinician.

Experience as a clinical staff trainer preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledgeable of and maintains compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA and all applicable federal, state and practice regulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Able to determine appropriate means of communication for training.

Able to train across multiple learning levels.

Effective listener.

Clinical knowledge across multiple departments.

Ability to speak with confidence, articulation and professionalism.

Licenses/Certifications: Current Tennessee RN/LPN license or other license/certification related to clinical specialty. Current CPR certificate required through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Working Conditions: This is a full-time onsite position. Contact with staff, patients and outside organizations.

Physical Demands: Requires frequent sitting, occasional standing. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate telephone, computer, copy machine etc. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record and prepare reports and communicate appropriately.
