Registered Nurse (RN) IMCU Intermediate Care Unit (FT Nights 7P-7A) *Up to $10,000 Sign On Bonus

Position Overview IMCU Intermediate Care Unit Nurse – Full Time, Nights, 7pm–7am. Unit to open November. Start dates beginning in September and October. Unit Description The Intermediate Care Unit is an 18‑bed, intermediate critical care inpatient unit that provides patient‑centered, family‑focused care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The mission is to deliver the highest quality care to patients who require a higher level of support than that of an intensive care setting while maintaining a Primary Care Nursing model with nurse‑to‑patient ratios of 1:3‑4. Patients may be neurologic, medical, pulmonary (CPAP, BiPAP, AVAPS, high‑flow oxygen, or mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy), surgical, trauma, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, metabolic, cardiac, or hemodynamic. Nursing interventions are required every two hours for neuro checks, wound care, glucose monitoring, blood pressure, etc., with vital signs hourly for up to four hours, supported by a multi‑disciplinary approach. Responsibilities Assess, implement, delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with unit philosophy. Deliver direct patient care within the 1:3‑4 nurse‑to‑patient ratio. Coordinate with other shifts and departments to ensure optimal continuity of care. Maintain and document clinical data using Cerner electronic documentation. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Valid Texas RN license or Eligible Compact license. Minimum of one year of acute care experience. Current BLS & ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. BSN required or must be obtained within three years of hire. PCCN certification preferred but not required. Orientation UMC Hospital Orientation & Nursing Orientation. ANCC PTAP accredited Nurse Residency Program. Unit‑specific orientation to be determined by the hiring department. Orientation length based on individual needs as determined by the Director. Galen e‑learning curriculum modules / online nursing competency validation.
