Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels; coordinate care with other disciplines using professional judgment and critical thinking.
• Assess patient conditions, implement plan of care, monitor progress, and adjust care as needed within a step-down unit.
• Document care accurately and maintain patient safety, quality metrics, and compliance with unit and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care; respond to changes in patient status promptly.
• Provide care for a mixed medical/surgical population in a post-critical setting, including monitoring or ventilator-dependent patients when applicable.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Hawaii or eligibility for Hawaii licensure.
• Demonstrated ability to provide direct patient care in an intermediate-care/post-critical setting.
• Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts; willingness to fulfill a travel assignment for 8 weeks.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills for coordination with a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to patient safety, accurate documentation, and adherence to standards of care.
