divh2Dental Assistant Position/h2pEnvision Dental Implant Center, Seneca SC/ppThe Dental Assistants primary responsibilities include performing patient care activities as a member of the clinical team, taking x-ray films, cleaning, packaging, sterilizing, and storing supplies, instruments, and equipment./ph3Essential Functions/h3ulliSupports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Practice./liulliSupports, and performs according to, approved policies and procedures./liliSupports risk management and participates in programs directed to patient and staff safety./liliConsiders patient rights in performance of job duties and responsibilities./liliContributes to the quality management process; identifies role and contributions upon request./li/ulliAdheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities./liulliReports observed or suspected violations, hazards, and noncompliance according to Practice policy./liliObserves safety measures in performance of job duties and responsibilities./liliResponds to emergency situations with competence and composure./li/ulliCommunicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers./liulliInteractions are respectful and courteous./liliObjectively evaluates suggestions, grievances, and processes to identify opportunities to improve performance and quality of care or seeks further guidance, as needed./liliCommunicates effectively and professionally using a translator when necessary./liliDocuments that information received from the patient is disseminated to the appropriate people or departments./li/ulliResponds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and the Prosthodontist./liulliDocuments patient care records and other forms according to Practice policy./liliCommunicates information about the patients status to others responsible for patient care./li/ulliAccurately comprehends, interprets, and documents verbal orders and directions./liliPerforms assisting duties and responsibilities./liulliReviews schedule at least one week in advance and prepares as necessary (make sure implants, abutments, splints, stents, etc. are available at the appropriate office./liliAssists Prosthodontist with procedures (including any surgical or restorative procedures) suction, irrigation, pass instruments, cut sutures, etc./liliPerforms office procedures as directed (remove sutures, etc.)./liliPrepares patient and room set-up for appropriate procedure/exam./liliReviews post-op instructions with surgery patients./liliReviews charts/paperwork before doctor sees patient; completes appropriate paperwork./liliHelps in workroom and with restocking clinical supplies./liliUtilizes computer system (time clock, reviewing schedules, scheduling appointments, using e-mail, etc.)./liliReports any damaged equipment discovered during routine cleaning or use./liliComplies with all OSHA and office policies and procedures./liliOther duties as directed./li/ul/ulh3Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/h3pEducation/Certification/Experience:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required/liliDental Assistant Experience preferred/liliDemonstrated understanding of sterilization principles required/liliCPR certification required/liliSC dental x-ray certification preferred/liliAccredited Dental Assisting program preferred/li/ulpSkills/Abilities:/pulliProblem solver and self-directed/liliHigh degree of professionalism and professional image/liliStrong and effective communication and platform skills/liliPositive attitude, change advocate, lead by example, coachable/liliStrong interpersonal and relationship building skills/liliIndependent decision-making skills, sound judgment/liliStrong initiative and able to exercise sound judgement/li/ulh3Work Environment/Condition/h3ulliRequires constant and frequent judgment and response. Requires language skills for communication in American English./liliRequires high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care activities./liliRequires the ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, the ability to sit or stand for long periods, occasional overhead, and low reaching, bending, and the ability to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
