7th Grade Girls' Basketball Coach

Job Summary Tawas Area Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the 7th Grade Girls' Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position is focused on developing student-athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive sportsmanship culture. The ideal candidate will have a passion for basketball, a commitment to student development, and the ability to motivate young athletes. Responsibilities Plan and conduct daily practices that enhance the skills and teamwork of the players. Develop game strategies and effectively communicate them to the team. Monitor and assess player performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement. Promote a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages participation and personal growth. Organize and manage team logistics, including scheduling practices, games, and transportation. Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and player progress. Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and games. Uphold and enforce the school's athletic policies and code of conduct. Foster sportsmanship and respect among players, coaches, and opponents. Attend all scheduled games and practices, maintaining a consistent presence for the team. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school level or equivalent, is preferred. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and strategies. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with students, parents, and school staff. Strong leadership and motivational skills to inspire young athletes. Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season. Ability to commit to the entire season, including practices and games. A positive attitude, patience, and a passion for teaching the game of basketball to young athletes.
