Optimizes parts department processes. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.ResponsibilitiesDevelops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfactionPromotes and merchandises parts and accessories in conjunction with other store locationsCreates annual Parts Department goals and budget, in alignment with the organizations financial and operational objectivesDevelops and executes Parts Department marketing plan and monitors monthly to ensure achievement of departmental goalsMaintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter proceduresSubmits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum creditMaximizes use of all order discount programs to achieve management stock order goalsEnsures all department tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working orderManages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this positionQualificationsExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge1+ years experience in Parts Department operationsExperience leading othersAbility to write and speak effectively to individuals and groupsBasic understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operationsAbility to analyze and interpret internal reportsAbility to work extended hours and weekendsExcellent customer service skillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent experiencePhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position. This role requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and frequently handle parts, materials, and equipment using repetitive motions such as reaching, gripping, and handling. The position involves lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling, and moving to retrieve and organize parts. Frequent use of computers, telephones, and electronic communication tools is required. Must be able to maintain appropriate visual acuity, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
