Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit, managing patients with various diagnoses. Responsibilities include patient assessment, monitoring vital signs, and managing medical interventions as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage blood products.
• Perform thorough assessments and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Provide care for patients with bowel obstructions, colostomy/ileostomy management, and feeding tube care.
• Manage renal failure and provide pre/post hemodialysis management.
• Utilize telemetry for remote monitoring and manage respiratory therapies including BiPAP/CPAP.
• Collaborate with Rapid Response and Code teams as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and provide wound care.
• Float to different units as needed, supporting the care continuum.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry unit.
• Must possess BLS and NIHSS certifications; ACLS preferred.
• Must have the ability to interpret vital signs and manage IVs, central line blood draws, and heparin/insulin protocols.
• Experience with Electronic Documentation, preferably with Epic.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; NC or Compact license pending is acceptable.
