Job Description We are hiring a Basic Security Officer for a part‑time position in Canton, GA. The role requires unarmed security duties, including fixed and roving patrols, incident reporting, and basic alarm response. This position may require overtime, weekend and holiday work, and flexibility to accommodate shifts as needed. Responsibilities Patrol designated areas on foot or in vehicle Understand and fulfill responsibilities of all posts Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities Complete the Georgia 24‑hour basic security officer course within six months of hiring Complete applicable Safety & Environmental Rules training Maintain daily activity reports on paper, computer, smartphone, or tablet Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner Complete post‑order training and familiarization Expectations Will be able to work overtime and on various shifts, including weekends and holidays Maintain accurate records (ability to read and write) Effectively comprehend numerous policies, procedures, and concepts Communicate effectively with others Walk up and down stairs Use a computer or tablet with basic competence, including guard tour system, camera monitoring system, and e‑mail program Patrol the client’s facility as determined by the client Control access to the client facility (foot and vehicle traffic) Stand for long periods of time, sometimes in excess of eight hours Work outside in a variety of weather conditions Candidates Are Required To Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Pass any state‑required training or other qualifications for licensing Complete site‑specific training prior to serving as a qualified security officer Have a driver’s license if operating a company or client‑owned vehicle Operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors Interact cordially and communicate with the public Be at least 18 years old Be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States Have access to reliable transportation/self‑owned vehicle for short‑notice response Be able to work any shift, 24 hours per day, seven days per week Participate in training sessions and meetings when scheduled Adhere to EKG and client safety policies Have a mobile phone Have an e‑mail address and regularly use it Operate a computer (Windows‑based) and tablet with basic competency for HR and time entry software Effectively read, write, and speak English Provide a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated if prior military service Benefits Full‑time employees are eligible for the following benefits after 90 days: health, dental, and vision insurance; short‑term disability, accident insurance, and critical illness coverage; paid vacation; life insurance; referral program and bonuses; direct deposit; merit pay; paid training; free uniforms; tuition reimbursement; advancement opportunities; flexible hours.
