HOUSEKEEPING PERSONNEL

Job Location: The Bradford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation – Shreveport, LA 71118 Job Shift: Any Position: Housekeeping and Maintenance Technician Principal Responsibilities Perform day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance duties according to federal, state, and local standards and facility policies. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in offices, restrooms, activity rooms, kitchens, service entrances, therapy rooms, utility areas, closets, lounges, lobbies, halls, and exterior spaces. Follow the cleaning schedule assigned by the supervisor and perform emergency housekeeping tasks. Check and replace light bulbs, clean lint from dryers, vents, and registers, and keep grounds cleared of debris. Sweep front entrances, patio areas, clean ash trays, and ensure outside furniture is clean and usable. Wash windows and screens outside the building as assigned and perform floor care using appropriate machines and chemicals. Clean, dust, wash, and disinfect all fixtures, floors, walls, doors, and ceilings; scours and polishes water fountains, sinks, mirrors, glass panels, and brass fixtures. Change slip covers, drapes, doilies, and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion; remove and rehang curtains and dividers for cleaning when needed. Replenish soap and towels in appropriate receptacles and monitor and replenish cleaning products as required. Work jointly with maintenance personnel to service floors, resident rooms, baths, lounges, nurse stations, and offices as assigned. Communicate and consult with nurses, physicians, department leaders, and other staff regarding environmental services requests, infection prevention, service resolution opportunities, and other interdepartmental matters. Perform terminal cleaning duties according to established procedure in resident rooms when a resident has been discharged or transferred and prepare rooms for new occupants. Perform cleaning duties in isolation units when a resident is transferred according to established procedures (see Nursing Procedure Manual). Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency preferred. One year’s experience in a commercial establishment with knowledge of laundry and housekeeping procedures.
