Intellectual Property Associate Attorney

A well-established law firm is seeking an IP Associate to join their growing IP practice. This position can be based out of Portland, ME, Boston, MA, or Portsmouth, NH.

Responsibilities:

• Handle patent prosecution matters from application drafting through prosecution.
• Work closely with clients and attorneys to understand complex technical and legal issues.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications involving technologies such as medical devices, electronics, robotics, and related technologies .
• Prepare clear, technically accurate legal documents and client communications.
• Analyze complex technical concepts and translate them into effective patent strategies and written materials.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients on intellectual property matters and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm environment.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a closely related technical field .
• Experience with patent matters involving medical devices, electronics, robotics, or similar technologies .
• Strong academic background.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong technical and legal writing skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical and legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
