Job Description
Position:Salon-Hair Stylist Department:Retail -Studio G Primary Responsibilities: Guest interaction.Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely andprofessional manner. Hair cutting, coloring,and styling in accordance with guest requirements Perform other services asneeded including hair extensions, eyelashextensions Apply makeup using latesttechniques including air brush Keep current on all hairand makeup trends Sell retail products toour guests. Secondary Responsibilities: Light maintenance,cleaning of immediate work space and assist with putting away linen andsupplies. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all work areas at alltimes Sanitation of workstations and equipment in accordance with WV cosmetology sanitationstandards To conserve and monitorsupplies and assets of Studio G To attend all scheduledtreatment and product knowledge training sessions To maintain highstandards of service and cleanliness To assist with specialprojects, events and promotions as needed To use available time tohelp with salon operations as requested To immediately report allsuspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions To attend all mandatorylineups, meetings and trainings session asscheduled Normal Working Hours: 32-40 hours per week inseason Staffing by seniority,requires availability on holidays and 7 day a weekoperation 2 scheduled days off forfull-time, days vary for part time Available to cover forcall ins In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate mustmeet the following criteria: Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number of years required,equivalent experience, etc.) Advantage to haveexperience in cosmetology, esthetics, and retail High end salonexperience Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highestrequired/preferred, field of study) High School Diploma orG.E.D. WestVirginia Licensed Cosmetologistor National Cosmetologist License Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone, in-person,group; Written: memos, documents) Must be able to expressinformation clearly and communicate in a personable and professionalmanner Technical Requirements: Must be a WestVirginia licensedCosmetologist Primary skill leveldesired in hair cutting, coloring, and styling Strong retail skills isand advantage Familiar with hair caretreatment lines similar to those used at Studio G.
Must adhere to statesanitation laws and requirements.
Must have an ability tolearn new services and understand product ingredients.
Must have anunderstanding of sales and the importance of meetinggoals Location ofWork: Indoors Heated WorkPostures: Continuous (up to 8 hrs.in an 8 hr. shift) Standing Hand/EyeCoordination Frequent (up to 5.5 hrs.in 8 hr. shift) Walking Bending/Stooping Arm/Hand Movement RepetitiveMotion Infrequent (up to 3 hrs.in an 8 hr. shift) Sitting LiftingRequirements: Rarely (21 - 30lbs) Floor to WaistLift Grasping Push/Pull Carrying Required Supervision: (Reports to, Supervision provided, number ofpeople to supervise) Reports to Studio GManager Must be self motivatedand able to assume responsibility and behave professionally with guests andcoworkers OtherRequirements: Strong retail skills anadvantage Willingness to work as ateam Must be knowledgeable ofproducts and their benefits The selected candidate must be ableto uphold the Greenbrier's Vision as well as demonstrate the 12 Greenbriervalues of Safety, Honesty, Excellence, Respect, Empowerment, Pride, Teamwork,Loyalty, Commitment, Cleanliness, Responsibility andFairness*Requirements are subject tochange *Requirements are Subject toChange
