With 25 offices and over 480 employees worldwide, we specialize in delivering innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical and food & beverage industries.At LAPORTE, we offer:Competitive SalaryComprehensive BenefitsCompensatory Paid Time Off (PTO)A Flexible Work Environment that values work-life balanceOpportunities for Professional GrowthJoin us and become part of a supportive, collaborative team that encourages creativity and efficiency every day.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Controls Engineer, you will support controls and automation projects across a variety of industries.Programming of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for continuous, discrete and batch processes.Industrial network specification and design (Ethernet, Modbus, IO-Link, etc.).Collaboration with other disciplines (Process Design, Electrical Design) to identify control system specifications.Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and other process design documentation to assist in control system specifications.Generate and maintain necessary documentation, including I/O Lists, Process Narratives, Functional Design Specifications, Commissioning Forms, etc., dependent upon customer requirements.Provide commissioning and startup services.Electrical troubleshooting and ability to commission and configure a wide range of control equipment (VFDs, transmitters, etc.).Assist in control panel design and equipment specification, ensuring compliance with applicable codes (NEC, UL508A) and standards.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or Chemical Engineering required.Experience:Minimum of 2 years in an industrial controls (end-user or OEM), or system integration/consulting role as a controls engineer.Technical Expertise:Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC's, HMI's and programming software requiredDesired Technical Expertise:Experience in any of the following HMI/SCADA software is desirable: Inductive Automaton Ignition, AVEVA Wonderware, GE iFixExperience with Siemens SIMATIC controllers and STEP 7 programming softwareExperience in the use and configuration of historians (FactoryTalk Historian, OSISoft PI)Experience with OPC Servers (Kepware, Matrikon), Databases (SQL)Proficiency in managing tasks within integration projects, including client coordination, system design, and deliverable preparation.Proficiency in control panel design, network design, and component selectionAdditional Skills:Strong leadership and organizational abilities with a focus on relationship management.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Why Join LAPORTE?At LAPORTE, we are passionate about engineering excellence and innovation in automation systems.
