Location: Brooklyn, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 12:00 PM–4:00 PM; Friday, 10:30 AM–12:00 PM Salary: Based on Experience General Studies Teacher Assistant Position Overview A school in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a dependable, patient, and enthusiastic General Studies Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and daily student activities. The Teacher Assistant will work closely with the lead teacher to help maintain an organized and positive learning environment, provide students with academic support, and assist with day-to-day classroom responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with students and wants to gain additional experience in an educational setting. Key Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities. Provide individual and small-group academic support to students. Help students complete assignments and understand classroom material. Assist with general studies subjects as needed. Prepare classroom materials, worksheets, and instructional resources. Help maintain an organized, structured, and welcoming classroom environment. Reinforce classroom expectations and assist with classroom management. Monitor students during lessons, transitions, and other school activities. Provide additional support to students who may need extra academic assistance. Assist with grading, recordkeeping, and classroom organization as directed by the lead teacher. Help set up and clean up classroom activities and materials. Communicate student needs or concerns to the lead teacher. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and school administration. Assist with school programs, activities, and events as needed. Qualifications Previous experience working with children or students preferred. Previous classroom or teacher assistant experience is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, responsible, dependable, and professional. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow teacher instructions and classroom procedures. Comfortable providing academic support to students. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teaching team. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
