Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech

Job Details:

• Start times for Tech/Surgical Assistant: 5:30 AM - 6:30 AM
• Weekend rotation consists of on-call only
• On-call requirements include once per month weekend 24-hour call Saturday/Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, and end of shift call up to once per week
• 30-minute response time required for on-call shifts
• No sleep room available for on-call
• Holiday shifts are on-call only, as needed
• Cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Average of 10 cases per day
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Patient types include cardio and thoracic surgeries: CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, robotic thoracic cases (lobectomy, hernia repair), generator exchanges, lead extractions, heart transplants, and fem-pop bypass
• Strong CVOR background required with ability to work independently with minimal guidance across all specialties
• Minimum 2 years of experience required for ORT and Surgical Assistant roles
• ORT certifications required: BLS and graduation from an accredited school; CST preferred
• Surgical Assistant certifications required: BLS and graduation from an accredited school; CSFA preferred
• Experience in a fast-paced environment required
• Must be proficient with EPIC (required for ORT/Surgical Assistant), Alaris, Pyxis, and DaVinci XI equipment
• 2 weeks of orientation provided
• No floating required for Surgical Tech role
• Scrubs are provided
• Free parking available on site

This facility is a large 938-bed hospital designated as a Level III Trauma Center and holds Magnet Designation, reflecting its commitment to nursing excellence and high-quality patient care. The facility is also recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and features an 8-bed CVOR. The surgical department is well-supported with a Department Supervisor, Manager, Team Lead, 24/7 anesthesia availability, a Surgical Assistant Lead, and a 24/7 House Supervisor to ensure a collaborative and well-resourced work environment.
