GI ENDOSCOPY TCHN 1

Job Summary The GI Endoscopy Technician will support patient care teams across three units, performing equipment reprocessing, room turnover, supply stocking, and infection control tasks. Responsibilities Reprocess and high‑level disinfect GI endoscopes and related equipment. Perform procedure room turnover and maintain sterile fields. Restock supplies and assist staff with supplies during procedures. Assist with lifting, positioning, and transporting patients. Transport specimens and equipment between locations. Maintain infection control logs and notify supervisory staff of repairs. Follow UCSF policies on infection control, safety, and confidentiality. Support patient transport and patient escort duties, including use of AIDET communication skills. Assist with equipment setup for endoscopic procedures (video systems, ERCP, etc.). Support additional duties as assigned. Qualifications One year of related endoscopy experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively in English. Willingness to learn new skills and perform basic arithmetic. Basic computer skills and ability to operate sterilizers and other equipment. Detail oriented and able to move heavy equipment. Understanding of UCSF infection control and safety policies. Education High school diploma. Licenses and Certifications BLS certification. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
