Environmental Engineer

A leading industrial paper manufacturing company is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts at a large-scale manufacturing facility. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional to make a direct impact on plant operations while working closely with production, maintenance, and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Support air, water, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management programs. Prepare and maintain environmental permits, reports, and regulatory documentation. Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions. Partner with operations teams to identify opportunities for sustainability and waste reduction. Track environmental performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as a key resource during regulatory inspections and agency interactions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. 2+ years of environmental engineering experience within manufacturing, industrial, chemical, paper, pulp & paper, or related production environments. Working knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance programs. Experience with air emissions, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, hazardous waste, or environmental reporting. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in paper, pulp & paper, forestry products, or other process manufacturing industries. Familiarity with EPA regulations and environmental management systems. Experience supporting sustainability or environmental improvement projects. #J-18808-Ljbffr
